Moving Through Challenges: Jollylook Auto, Film Backs & Our Path Forward

Hello to All the Wonderful People of our Big Jollylook Community!

First of all, we want to say thank you.
Thank you to everyone who reached out to us during this time, and thank you to all of you for waiting so patiently for this update. Your messages, encouragement, and trust give us the strength to keep moving forward. We know how you’ve been waiting to hear from us, and we are truly grateful for your understanding.

This past year has been one of the most challenging in Jollylook’s journey. Work on the Jollylook Auto has taken much longer than we ever anticipated, while at the same time our focus has often been on simply keeping the company alive.

Sales of our Pinhole DIY Kits, our main source of revenue, declined sharply. As a result, we were forced to make very difficult decisions, including letting go of most of our team. But instead of giving up, we searched for ways to keep Jollylook alive and moving forward.

That search led us to create Instant Film Backs.
These are relatively simple for us to produce: they use our existing developing unit, while the housing is made with 3D printing. This innovation gave us a way to keep Jollylook going and provided the resources we needed to continue developing the Auto.

Thanks to this idea, we managed to save the company and create a path forward.

Where We Stand With Jollylook Auto

We already have nearly everything needed to start production, the only key component still missing is the PCB. Ordering and manufacturing it requires additional resources.

With the upcoming sales season and the growing interest in our Instant Film Backs, we’re hopeful that we’ll soon be able to move forward with finalizing the Auto.

We’re also exploring some design adjustments to make the final product even better.

One important lesson we’ve learned is that giving shipping estimates too early often leads to disappointment, as unexpected challenges can arise. For this reason, we won’t be providing new delivery dates until production is truly underway. Please rest assured, that we have not abandoned Jollylook Auto and we never will.

We fully understand that some of you may not want to wait any longer. That’s why we continue to offer the option to switch your reward to any other product available on our website, which can be shipped immediately. Options include the Pinhole Mini DIY Kit, Square DIY Kit, the Jollylook EYE, frames, accessories and now, also our Instant Film Backs.

We also want to clarify an important point. Some of you have asked about refunds, and we completely understand this request. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to issue refunds, as the funds collected during the campaign were allocated to purchasing materials for production, and therefore cannot be returned.

Despite everything, we remain optimistic. The development of our Film Backs has given us the chance to survive, regroup, and continue. Now, with your ongoing support, we are determined to bring Jollylook Auto to life.
